～EU：UCLはプランSの「大規模な見直し」を要求～UCL calls for ‘wholesale rethink’ of Plan S
英国のUniversity College Londonは現在EUで議論されているオープンアクセスを推進案「プランS」に対して、「強権的」と表現し戦略とスケジュールの見直しを求めた。プランSの背景にある資金提供者の連帯は、大学や研究者とより深く関わっていくべきだと主張している。

～科学技術と社会：ルーカスプラン –今日の技術の民主化に何を示唆するのか？～The Lucas Plan: What can it tell us about democratising technology today?
1976年、イギリスの航空宇宙産業のひとつであるルーカス社（現在はロールスロイス社に編入）において、労働者が「社会的に有用な技術と生産」を念頭にした経営案を提出した。結局当時の経営陣、政府に受け入れられることはなかったが、今日の科学技術と産業の環境を考えると多くの示唆に富んでいるという記事。

～ダボス会議～World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2019
World Economic Forumの年次総会（ダボス会議）が22日～25日に開催された。グローバライゼーション4.0 – 第4次産業革命の時代における世界の設計（Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution）というテーマで議論が行われた。今回ホワイトハウスからの出席は取りやめになった。
