～EU：分析レポート – EUにおけるミッション指向型研究イノベーションについての反響～Analysis report: responses to the call for feedback on mission-oriented research and innovation in the European Union
今年初め、ユニバーシティ・カレッジ・ロンドン（UCL）のMariana Mazzucato教授による“Mission-Oriented Research & Innovation in the European Union”が発表されたが、この論文で示された研究とイノベーションの5つの基準について、専門家のハイレベル会合やステークホルダー会合で議論された内容を分析しまとめたレポート。

～EU：欧州オープンサイエンス・クラウドについてのウィーン宣言～

2017年7月に欧州オープンサイエンス・クラウドの開始が合意されたが、今回その合意を具体的に実行するための宣言がなされた。

～EU：英国とEUがBrexit以降の軍事研究について合意～UK, EU agree post-Brexit ties in defence research
英国とEUは先週木曜日、Brexit以降の貿易協定の概要を示すテキストで、広範な科学協力について「選択肢を探る」ことで合意した。特に軍事研究においては、Brexit以降も協力関係を維持することになった。

～中国：初めてのゲノム編集による人間の赤ちゃん誕生～First gene-edited babies claimed in China
AIDSウィルスに耐性を持つようにゲノム編集された双子の赤ちゃんが中国で誕生した。しかし専門家の間では、ルールが未整備の中、人間の胎児に処置を施したことに対する批判も上がっている。
