+Application Deadline Postponed to May 25, 2020: Competitive SciREX Projects for 2020

This is to revise our earlier annoucement at https://scirex.grips.ac.jp/en/news/archive/200408_2356.html to postpone the deadline to May 25, 2020.
The 2020 version of the Call for Proposals for Competition-based SciREX Projects is announced. The call for proposals, review, and selection of the grantees will be made by RISTEX, an organization under JST that focuses on S&T and Society. RISTEX is one of the SciREX Program players.
As the 9th of its kind since 2011, the announcement lists up recommendations of research themes as follows:
1. Selection of such research themes that contribute to strategic downsizing and the countermeasures
2. Bridging the R&D and Policy Formation
3. Making the already-existing technologies used in society or systematized and have them accepted
4. Desgining, managing, and evaluating R&D programs
5. Evaluation of societal impact of STI policies
6. Use of open data to form policies
Application period: April 3, 2020-May 25, 2020 12:00 NOON through e-Rad system
Duration of research: Up to 3.5 years (October 2020-March 2024)
Award direct cost: Up to Yen 4-6 (between 4 and 6) million per year
Reviews: Paper and interview
Number of awards: about FIVE
