Outline

More and more people are concerned with Data Contract these days. The economic activities in Japan heavily rely on the "real data." An example would be that the importance of establishing the data base with utmost care to cybersicurity countermeasures is highlighted in the "Future Investment Stratgegy - 2018" that was cabinet-approved in June 2018.

The "Guidelines on Contracts for AI and Data Use" is the core and most detailed guidelines in Japan established ahead of the rest of the world. The guidelines include cross-border transactions, not only those concerned in Japan. However, the environment surrounding contracts has rapidly been changing. The emergence of IoT and AI technologies has brought unfair competition, which eventually established the unfair competition prevention law.

Not only Japan, but many countries overseas are paying attention to the Data Contract. This workshop will invite experts of data contract and focus on discussions on the future of data contract together with stakeholders.
