This is the fourth of the seminar series titled "Seminars on State-of-the Art Science & Technology and Innovation" organized by the Innovation Management Policy Program (IMPP), SciREX core center at Hitotsubashi University (refer to the first, second and third seminars). Outline | There are some countries overseas that are seeing damages to the environment caused by the mining and manufacturing of rare earth. The speaker will talk about the current status and future themes of rare earth, including the false information about it and even the issues hidden or unknown in Japan. There is a misunderstanding or urban mining myth that the resource problems can be solved when the accumulated rare earth is recycled. The speaker will talk aout the bottleneck for the rare earth supply and the issues surrounding recycling. |
