Outline

People's interest in science diplomacy has been growing globally. This event, chaired by GRIPS Vice President Atsushi Sunami, will explore how science is used for diplomacy. Professors Robin Grimes and Teruo Kishi will talk about their experiences as state scientific advisors, focusing on how science can support diplomacy, how diplomacy can support science and how science can be used to improve policymaking. The talks will be followed by a science policy experts' panel discussion on the increasing use of science in analyzing social issues and driving economic growth.
