The disaster caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011 was "beyond expectation." Dr. Fututa will talk about how to be prepared with such large-scale disasters and minimize "beyond expectation." With the funds from RISTEX, Dr. Furuta has analyzed the complex relation between essential infrastructures, and developed a tool that can simulate the recovery process of infrastructure and people's life. He will talk about the details of his study, which will be followed by a discussion on a resilient society to be participated by the seminar attendants.
